HIGH OUTPUT ENGINE ASSEMBLY 502 C.I.

The new HO 502 engine assembly is Chevrolet's biggest big block. The high torque engine
offers exceptional performance and value in an over-the-counter package for any pre 1968
passenger car and truck usage's, or any year for off-highway (not certified for marine use). During development of the HO 502 assembly, a test engine equipped with a 750cfm Holley four-barrel carburetor, aftermarket headers (2" x 30" primaries) and low-restriction mufflers produced 440 horsepower (at 5250 rpm) and 515 lb.-ft torque (at 3500 rpm).
High Output 502 engines are completely assembled (less ignition, spark plug wires, carburetor, and exhaust manifolds) using brand new premium quality components. The HO 502 assembly includes a water pump, torsional damper, and automatic transmission flex plate. All HO engines are fire-tested and final balanced at the factory to ensure their quality and performance. The following are features of the HO502 engine assembly.

* BLOCK: The HO 502 is based on the Gen-V cast iron short-deck marine block with 4.47"
diameter siamesed cylinder bores, four-bolt main bearing caps, and blind-tapped head bolts. Like all
Gen-V big block V8s, the HO 502 has a leak-resistant one-piece rear crankshaft seal, relocated oil
passages, and a redesigned oil filter pad with integral oil cooler connections. It has no provisions
for a mechanical fuel pump.
* CRANKSHAFT ASSEMBLY: A 4.00" stroke forged 1053 steel crankshaft is the heart of the HO 502
engine. The crank assembly also includes forged 4340 steel connecting rods with 7/16" bolts and
forged aluminum pistons with a normal compression ratio of 8.75:1.
* INDUCTION SYSTEM: The HO 502 is equipped with high-rise aluminum four-barrel intake
manifold and high performance rectangular port cylinder heads. These cast iron heads have open-style
118cc combustion chambers and 2.19"/1.88" diameter valves.
* ROCKER COVERS: The HO 502's rigid cast aluminum covers and screw-in oil filler cap resists
leaks. The covers have a black matte finish with contrasting aluminum ribs.
* VALVETRAIN: The HO engine's hydraulic tappet camshaft has .500" valve lift and .220 degrees
duration (at .050" tappet lift). The HO engine uses a non-adjustable "net lash" valvetrain and
3/8" diameter pushrods.

Chevy Small-Block V8
SPECIAL PERFORMANCE 350 ci (300 hp) ENGINE
This 300 hp special performance 350 ci engine assembly is designed for street use in your 1968 or
earlier car or truck (not certified for marine use). It can be used on any year and model for off-highway usage.
This 9.1:1 compression performance engine is the perfect engine for that old muscle

car feeling. This very reasonably priced engine assembly can be physically installed in place
of any 256 ci through 400 ci engine. This block is the same four-bolt main design with one piece
rear as used in the 350 High Output engine. The 64cc cast iron cylinder heads are the nonswirl
design for greater performance. This engine also includes "chrome" timing covers and rocker
covers. The intake manifold, distributor, flywheel, balancer, water pump, and exhaust manifolds
are not included in this assembly.

* BLOCK: Cast iron with straight four-bolt bearing caps, late model one piece rear seal design.
* CRANKSHAFT ASSEMBLY: Nodular cast iron one piece rear main design
* PISTON AND RING ASSEMBLY: Cast aluminum
* CAMSHAFT: Special performance flat tappet has .435" intake and .460" exhaust lift. Intake
duration is 212 degrees (at .050 tappet lift) and exhaust duration is 222 degrees.
* CYLINDER HEADS: Cast iron with 64cc chambers This head includes 1.94" intake and 1.50"
exhaust valves with straight type spark plug holes.
* VALVE SPRINGS: This engine uses 1970 Corvette LT1 valve springs
